Adam Rutherford finds being a field technician very rewarding.
“Particularly when the kids tell me that the day their Internet connection is installed is better than Christmas or when the customer tells me it feels like they’ve jumped 10 years into the future,” he said.
After working as a facilities supervisor at the Casino for 11 years Adam was ready for a change and to do something that was aligned with his goals and values.
He saw that Silo was hiring a field technician and knew he would enjoy being hands on and spending time outdoors. He did some research and liked what he saw.
“I saw on their Facebook that Silo takes good care of their customers,” he said.
If money was no object, Adam would make a living woodworking.
He builds all sorts of things including tables, bedframes, picture frames and heirloom boxes.
Adam also dreams of going into space. The rarity of the experience draws him in.
“How many people can say they’ve gone to space?” he said.
Traveling to space is actually a new dream for Adam. He wasn’t the child dreaming of becoming an astronaut as you might suspect. He actually wanted to be a cowboy or a medieval knight.
“I’m allergic to horses so that put a damper on both of those possibilities,” he joked.
For fun, Adam likes to play rock and folk music on the guitar and travel the world. He has been to 11 different countries and swam in three different oceans!
