Silo’s Warehouse & Fleet Coordinator, Brad Matyas has several responsibilities. Not only is he responsible for the entire warehouse, he is also responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels and coordinating the maintenance of Silo’s fleet of vehicles.
Since joining the Silo team earlier this year, Brad has completely reorganized our warehouse, driving efficiency and improving the way we utilize our space.
“My goal is to help the company grow and make things easier for everybody on a daily basis,” he said.
Brad brings a career’s worth of relevant experience as a retiree of SC Johnson.
He was looking for an opportunity where he could use this experience to help a company grow. He had been watching Silo for a while and always thought it would be a neat place to work.
Brad wanted to work for a company that makes a difference in the community and appreciates the efforts of their employees.
“It is hard to find a company that will acknowledge your work efforts on a continual basis, not just at a special meeting or event. It is also refreshing to work for a company that truly believes in customer service and tries their best to make that their #1 priority,” he explained.
It’s clear to us that Brad values hard work. He spends his free time milling logs for lumber and “live edge” use. Live edge is when you choose to leave the bark on the wood to add style to a table for example.
As an avid downhill skier, he makes a point of travelling to Whistler every year and hopes to make more time for travel in the future.
“I’d like to take a few months and do a road trip across Canada and the US. I saw it as a kid but I think it’s time to revisit as an adult,” he said.
Another item on Brad’s to-do list is to practice his drumming. He’s been playing since grade school and wants to use some spare time to sharpen his skills.
