One of Emily Mew’s favourite parts of being a Silo CSR is improving customer experience.
“It’s always great when we can get a customer from say 1 Mbps to 10-25 Mbps,” she said.
Emily recently moved to Canada from the UK to gain new life experience in another country.
She applied and interviewed for a Silo tech support position and when management saw she was a good fit for customer service, she was offered a job in that department instead.
Emily finished a degree in performing arts in May from the University of Gloucester.
Her goal through school was to become a teacher but when she decided to move to Canada she put her career on hold and was happy to see what opportunities came her way.
Whether she’s here or in the UK, Emily’s biggest priority is to be happy and to start a family one day.
Another goal of hers is to get involved with the theatre community in Brantford.
As a performing arts graduate, she has many talents including singing, dancing and acting.
Musical theatre is one of Emily’s biggest interests whether it be watching, listening or performing in them! She has seen almost every musical and she’s acted in many of them too. Her favourite roles were Killer Queen in We Will Rock You and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors.
Just before she left the UK Emily also performed regularly in a Motown and soul band. She plans to reunite with her band and play a gig when she returns to England to graduate in a few weeks. She is very much looking forward to returning from the UK to experience her first Canadian winter.
Here’s a video of Emily singing for her Motown band back in the UK.
