“We’re making this video because in tech support we get a lot of calls from people asking, if they complete this questionnaire that has them to fill in a few facts about themselves, like their credit card information and social insurance information, if there’s a chance that they’ll win an iPad from Silo.
We see this a lot in tech support. We get a lot of these types of calls whether it’s for Silo, Netflix or any other company. We just want people to be aware that they should be protecting their personal information
There are select people online who are going to try to take advantage of your nativity with the internet by getting your information to by scam you out of money or take your identity. We just want our customers to be aware of these kinds of things and what they can do to protect themselves.
With any kind of pop-ups that is offering you things like iPads, TVs or Xboxes, you always want to make sure it’s secure before giving away your information. That means contacting the company directly. So, if you get something from Silo, definitely contact us. See if it is something that we have put out there. Likely, if we are giving away free items, like we gave away a free TV last month, it’s going to be on our Facebook page, it’s going to be on our website – we’re not going to offer anything in a pop-up and that’s probably the same for a lot of other companies out there.
