Jenn is the first person you’ll see when you walk in the door and with that smile there’s no better person for the job!
“As Billing Clerk and Receptionist, I direct people to the right person, answer customer’s questions and take payments at the reception desk. I also answer questions regarding billing and payments over the phone and through email and I complete various administrative tasks. I keep the office organized and stocked, and I get to take care of our indoor garden and our betta fish, Doug!”
Five years ago, Jenn answered an ad looking for a customer service representative, went through a rigorous interview process and was hired after her fourth interview. She started in customer service, made her way to what was then called the “Enhanced Services” department and finally landed in billing, which she loves.
When asked what her career aspirations and personal goals are her answer was to grow.
“I want to continue to grow with Silo and I want to see my children grow into successful adults.”
What’s interesting is she knew Silo’s co-owners, Cynthia and Andreas, for several years before working at Silo!
“I’ve known Cynthia and Andreas for ten years. My husband and I owned a restaurant in Burford and I can remember Andreas coming in at the crack of dawn for coffee. After the restaurant closed I was a stay at home mom and drove a school bus part time and I drove Cynthia and Andreas’ youngest son to school! In addition to driving bus, I ran a home daycare and fostered 8 kids!”
It was natural fit for Jenn and her husband to become foster parents.
“My husband’s family fostered over 200 children through the years and I myself was adopted,” she said.
Jenn has been married for 18 years, has four kids and one grandchild.
“Family is huge,” she said.
Outside of work, Jenn enjoys spending time with family, especially her baby granddaughter, scrap booking, vacationing, and taking in some karaoke a couple times a month.
